Surplus from our winter and early spring crops went to the dehydrator so we are well in stock. Dried mushrooms are a shelf stable pantry item, comparable to canned mushrooms. Just add hot water and watch them re-hydrate. I use them quite frequently in stir fry and treat them like any other vegetable on the cast iron. The water used becomes a tasty broth, which can be used in your cooking for soups, sauces, etc. Or, my personal favorite, can be enjoyed as if a cup of tea.
